Sometimes it is difficult for us to even explain how Viktor Tsoi could deserve such a nationwide love. He wrote music and sang songs that awakened people, removed from their eyes a veil of total propaganda. He became the voice of the people, the symbol of part of the era of Russian rock. Later he was called the last hero of the country. In terms of cultural significance and mass influence, Viktor Tsoi was placed next to Vladimir Vysotsky. No artist has been awarded this honor.

Love of guitar
The image of Viktor Tsoi was formed and has grown to a cult level from an ordinary St. Petersburg guy who was born on June 21, 1962. In the boy flowed a mixture of Korean and Russian blood. Victor Tsoi, a musician, noticed his son’s parents as a child — he painted and sculpted well, and in the fifth grade he picked up a guitar, which later helped him climb to the top of his fame.

Unfortunately, Father Robert Maksimovich left his family, and so that it did not greatly affect the psychological state of Viktor, his mother enrolled him in classes at art school, but there he became more and more attached to music – together with his friend Maxim Pashkov they listened to Beatles and Elvis Presley fans. . Later they were joined by another drummer, and together the guys created a debut album called “Elephant Moon”.

Dedicated to Viktor Tsoi
At 15, Viktor Tsoi entered the Serov Art School. And in this educational institution all thoughts of the young man were occupied only with a guitar. Soon, the freedom-loving Tsoi was expelled from school. Victor found application for his creative work in the group “Automatic Satisfiers”, musician Victor Tsoy, who played punk rock under the guidance of the well-known pork band Pork (aka Andrei Panov).

The first song written by Victor was the composition “Dedication to Mark Bolan”. And then everything started spinning like in a kaleidoscope – a musical get-together free of convention, songs, poems, fans. All this has become the meaning of life Tsoi.

For a piece of bread, the musician earned the profession of woodcarver,  in one of the schools of St. Petersburg. And when the first American militants with Schwarzenegger appeared, Tsoi began to paint his portraits and sell them near the metro for 1 ruble each.

The birth of “Cinema”
In those years, the Soviet rock party gathered in the apartments of Artemy Troitsky and Tsoi’s friend Mike Naumenko. He introduced Victor to Boris Grebenshchikov, who was delighted with the work of the young musician. In 1981, Victor and his friend Alexei Rybin organized the rock group Garin and Hyperboloids, later renamed Cinema. The group very quickly gained popularity in their area, winning the hearts of fans from local schools and colleges where they performed. And it took quite a bit of time for the guys to be introduced to the legendary Leningrad rock club. Colleagues in the shop immediately recognized in the beginner musicians of people from which a wonderful group can turn out.

The recording of their first album “45”, which was produced by Boris Grebenshchikov, was quickly sold out among music lovers by musician Viktor Tsoygorod, and the young talents immediately had fans and fans.

At the dawn of his career, Choi sang songs with simple lyrics to simple music and high voice. The thoughtful image of a rock idol will appear to the public much later. The creation of the image took more than one year. Choi eagerly considered Western magazines brought by acquaintances, studied records with performances of British and American rock bands in order to choose the most interesting. He collected his image bit by bit – the style of dress, behave on stage, wear a haircut, move. This helped him become an idol for several generations to come.

Changes require our hearts
At one of the parties, Viktor Tsoi met a member of the Leningrad circus, Marianne, who was able to give him faith in herself. The young people soon got married, and in 1985 their son Alexander was born. musician Viktor TsoiMarianna quickly joined the life of the Kino group – she was both an administrator, and a costume designer, and a makeup artist. From the experience of many other rock bands, we know that the appearance of women in them did not lead to anything good. It happened with the “Cinema”. Alexey Rybin felt out of place in the team and left.

At the same time, Victor received a summons from the recruiting office. A man of such nature could not even imagine that he would ever take up arms. Then Choi made a risky decision to go to a psychiatric hospital to avoid serving in the army. He imitated a suicide attempt, and an ambulance took him to a mental hospital. The psychiatrist could not bring Victor to clean water and reveal his deceit, because he was silent for a whole month. Marianna went to work in the hospital as a nurse to stay with her lover.

After the birth of his son, Victor happily plunged into family troubles, endured sleepless nights, tried to protect his wife from problems, looked after his child, dedicated him to songs. All his thoughts and hopes were now connected only with the kid.
